Why convert WebP to PNG?
PNG is useful when you need a lossless image for editing, screenshots, graphics or software that does not handle WebP well. It also supports transparency, so a transparent WebP can usually keep its transparent areas when it is converted to PNG.
How to use this tool
- Choose or drag in a WebP image.
- Check the preview and file details.
- Select Convert to PNG and download the new file.
A larger PNG is not a failed conversion
WebP is designed to be efficient, while PNG stores image data losslessly. Because of that, the PNG can be noticeably larger than the WebP source. That is expected and is one reason PNG is usually chosen for editing or compatibility rather than for the smallest possible web file.
Transparency
If the original WebP has transparent pixels and your browser decodes them correctly, the PNG output keeps that transparency. A non-transparent source remains non-transparent.
Private browser processing
The file stays on your device during conversion. Nothing is sent to the EivoTech server.
Quick answers
Does PNG improve the quality of a WebP?
No. It changes the storage format but cannot recreate detail that was already lost in the source.
Does the image keep the same dimensions?
Yes. This converter does not resize the image.
Why choose PNG instead of JPG?
PNG is the better choice when you need transparency or want to avoid another lossy compression step.
