Turn Base64 text back into an image
If you have image data copied from code, an API response, a database field or a data URL, this tool lets you check what it contains and save it as a normal image file.
How to decode Base64
- Paste a complete image data URL or plain Base64 text into the box.
- Select Decode image.
- Check the preview, format and dimensions, then download the image.
Data URLs and plain Base64
A data URL tells the browser the image type, for example data:image/jpeg;base64,.... If you paste plain Base64 without that prefix, this tool assumes PNG. If the bytes are actually a different format, use the full data URL whenever possible so the correct type is preserved.
Why invalid text is rejected
Base64 has a specific character set and padding format. Random text, truncated strings and unsupported data can fail to decode or may decode into bytes that are not a readable image. The tool checks for those cases before offering a download.
Local decoding
The pasted Base64 data is processed in your browser. It is not posted to the EivoTech server.
Common questions
Which image formats are supported?
The tool is designed for PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP image data.
Why is my Base64 string so long?
Base64 uses text characters to represent binary data, which increases the amount of data compared with the original file.
Can I paste a URL to an online image?
No. This tool expects Base64 image data, not a normal https:// image URL.
