AVIF File Inspector
Inspect AVIF container brands, dimensions, bit-depth properties, color boxes, animation signals and metadata clues locally.
Inspect what an AVIF file actually contains
AVIF uses the ISO Base Media File Format, so useful technical information lives in container boxes rather than in a simple image header. This tool scans those structures locally and summarizes the properties it can resolve.
Details reported
The inspector reads the file type brands, image-property dimensions, per-channel bit-depth properties, color boxes, auxiliary-image clues, animation signals and common EXIF/XMP markers when present.
Why this is useful
AVIF upload failures are not always about the file extension. A 10-bit file, an image sequence, unusual color properties or container differences can matter to a CMS, graphics application or delivery pipeline.
How to use it
- Select an AVIF file.
- Review the technical report.
- Use the findings to decide whether the file needs conversion or a deeper media-analysis tool.
Limitations
AVIF containers can contain several items and derived images. This lightweight inspector reports detected structural properties and does not claim to resolve every possible item association in complex files.
