Animated WebP Checker
Detect whether a WebP is animated and inspect frame count, loop behavior, duration, canvas size and RIFF metadata flags.
Check whether a WebP is static or animated
Static and animated WebP files use the same extension. This checker reads the RIFF/WebP container and looks for the animation structures that distinguish a multi-frame file from a normal still image.
Animation details
When available, the report shows ANMF frame count, stored frame durations, loop count, canvas dimensions and selected frame-control flags. It also reports VP8X signals for alpha, ICC, EXIF and XMP data.
How to use it
- Select a .webp file.
- Review whether animation chunks were found.
- Use frame count and stored duration to troubleshoot conversion or publishing workflows.
Stored timing versus playback
The reported duration comes from the file controls. A browser or application can clamp very short frame delays or pause animation in a background tab, so observed playback may differ.
Privacy
The RIFF chunks are parsed locally and the WebP file is not uploaded.
